Kindred: North Ken is a huge 60,000 sq ft, dream-building designed to support 300 artists & makers at every stage of their career. ❤️

By balancing beautiful Artist Studios with flexible Kindred Memberships, we aim to support the entire creative ecology and inspire change.

  • Studios for one person start from £370 per month.

    The only additional cost is a variable contribution towards Energy Costs.

    A returnable two months deposit is required on signing the lease.

  • We encourage artists to share studios as a way of strengthening the community, encouraging collaboration and keeping costs down.

    Studios can either be shared in halves or quarters, dependent on the size of the space. Kindred will find you a suitable studio match.

  • Attendance is VERY important to us and a minimum of 3 full days a week in the studios is required or you may be required to shift your practice to a membership model.

    Minimum Term:
    Artist Studios are required to commit to a minimum 3-months.

    Leaving:
    There is the flexibility to give 2-months notice after the minimum term is completed.

    Deposit:
    We hold 2-months rent as a deposit.

  • Being part of Kindred means that you will need to contribute time and energy in:

    • Getting to know others & participating in the culture

    • Take part in Open Studios and its preparation

    • Give 2 full days of your professional time to inspire young people or contribute your skills to one of our community groups.

    This act of generosity is really important to us. Please do not apply for a studio if you feel this is too difficult for you, Membership might be more suited to you.

Memberships from £137 pm

Includes flexible workspace, access to equipped workshop and outside workspace

Kindred Memberships

  • Unlimited access to the members’ workspaces.
    5 hours access to the Artist Workshop per week. Extra day-passes are available to purchase separately.
    WIFI
    10% Discount in our Cafe.

    Ceramics workshop will operate separately and with its own pricing and system. Terms are presently under discussion.

  • Memberships start at £137 per month.

    Optional add-on:
    Dedicated Storage: £22 per month

  • Minimum Term:
    Members are required to commit to a minimum of 3-months.

Join Kindred:
North Ken

We are currently taking Expressions of Interest for studios and memberships. The form will take less that 1 minute to complete. Applications will be requested at a later date.

Studio visits will begin in April with a view to launching this coming June 2025. Please bear in mind that we are building the walls as we speak, so this will be subject to completion.

We’ll inform all participants of studio or membership offers at least two months ahead of launch.

Please be advised that we are very oversubscribed and run a selection process, so sadly cannot offer a studio or membership to everyone who applies🙏 BUT we do have 300 places!
